Congresswoman Erin Houchin, representing Indiana’s 9th district, has shared a series of tweets regarding the recent enactment of legislation known as the "One Big Beautiful Bill." Houchin, who succeeded Trey Hollingsworth in 2023 and previously served in the Indiana Senate from 2014 to 2022, is an advocate for policies supporting rural America and economic growth.

On July 9, 2025, Houchin tweeted "This aged well. The #OneBigBeautifulBill is officially law. " indicating her satisfaction with the bill's passage into law.

The following day, she emphasized the bill's significance for rural communities by stating "For family farms, small towns, and legacy businesses—The One Big Beautiful Bill is a lifeline. We’re keeping rural America strong." This highlights her focus on strengthening these areas through legislative support.

Later that day, Houchin further elaborated on the benefits of the bill for workers. She tweeted "When we say the One Big Beautiful Bill delivers for workers—we mean it. No tax on tips = more money in drivers’ pockets and a stronger economy from the ground up." This indicates that one provision of the bill includes eliminating taxes on tips to enhance workers' earnings and stimulate economic growth.

Erin Houchin was born in Salem, Indiana in 1976 and currently resides there. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Indiana University Bloomington.
