Today, Congresswoman Erin Houchin and Jackson County Prosecutor Jeff Chalfant announced the deportation of an illegal alien responsible for a fatal crash that claimed the life of 27-year-old Brad Castner. The incident occurred in March 2024 when the individual, previously cited for driving without a license, crossed the center line on U.S. Highway 50, resulting in a collision with Castner's vehicle.

Congresswoman Houchin attributed this deportation to the Laken Riley Act, legislation signed by President Trump. She criticized previous immigration enforcement under President Biden's administration, stating: “For four years, Biden’s open border policies allowed millions of illegal aliens to enter our country while the law was not enforced to remove criminals. That has changed under President Trump.”

Houchin commended Prosecutor Chalfant and ICE for their roles in facilitating the removal and ensuring swift deportation proceedings. She acknowledged ongoing challenges but emphasized progress: “There is still more work to be done to fix the damage caused by Biden’s open border policies, but this is a step in the right direction.”

She reiterated her commitment to enhancing community safety across regions impacted by what she described as a border crisis.
