Event Details
So you want to learn to sew! A great opportunity awaits at your Library. Whether or not you've operated a sewing machine, or if you've attempted simple sewing projects and weren't satisfied with the results, you're invited to attend our class to learn basic sewing skills. You will learn how to:
Operate a sewing machine.
Cut out a pattern and follow instructions for constructing the item.
Identify appropriate fabrics for selected projects.
Control stitching of a variety of seams, hems, and finishing raw edges.
Complete a usable project that will reflect your newly-honed sewing skills.
You will make a zippered bag over the course of the class. The Library supplies all materials and the tools for completing the project.
Class size is limited. One sewing machine is available for sharing. If your sewing machine is portable, you're welcome to bring it to the class for your own use.
The class meets from 10:00 a.m. to 12 noon on October 4, October 11, October 18, and October 25. You must attend ALL FOUR sessions.
