The New Albany Fire Department was notified this afternoon about a blue substance in Falling Run Creek and called the Indiana Department of Environmental Management (IDEM) to report the contaminant in the creek. IDEM is currently on the scene.
The contaminant entered the creek near the intersection of Beechwood Avenue and Grant Line Road, and it has currently traveled the creek towards Falling Run Apartments off of Grant Line Road.
Please avoid going near or in Falling Run Creek while IDEM runs tests and determines what substance is in the creek.
