SCOTTSBURG CITY POLICE: Local man returns to show his gratitude after two city employees go out of their way to help a man down on his luck and living out of his vehicle.
Mr. Carrigan said Lt. Joe Nicholson took money from his own pocket, which provided him with something to eat and fuel for his vehicle that was on empty.
Mr. Carrigan also said city employee, Bob Wilson went out of his way to find him, then make arrangements for him to take a shower and provided him with new clothes from Goodwill.
An emotional Carrigan went on to say with prayer and their encouragement, it has been possible for him to remain sober, obtain employment and a residence.
A little compassion goes a long way!
