Adam Bomar is running for the Republican nomination to serve on the Scott County Board of Commissioners representing District 2. The primary will be held on May 7.

In his campaign announcement, Bomar said his priority as commissioner would be making the government more transparent. "I value integrity and accuracy, ensuring the dissemination of trustworthy information," he said. "I reject dirty political games and political interference, and I will call them out to make citizens aware. I highly encourage respectful dialogue and ideas."

According to his LinkedIn page, Bomar currently works as a senior cybersecurity analyst at Baptist Health KY & IN, in addition to serving as a councilmember for Scott County 4-H as well as a Scott County Commissioner-appointed board member at River Hills Economic Development District & Regional Planning Commission. Previously, he served as a part-time Scott County Deputy Sheriff assigned to the Investigative Unit.

Bomar he grew up in rural Tennessee working on family and friends' farms, and he worked at a veterinary clinic throughout high school. 

After high school, Bomar enlisted in the U.S. Army, where he started out as a combat engineer. During his time in the Army, he was also trained in explosives and medical procedures and went on to attend the Army Protective Service School, and he provided protection escort services for a number of high-profile individuals, including senators, general officers, and contractors. In addition to completing multiple combat deployments, Bomar pursued further studies in electronic warfare and cyber-network defense. He spent ten years in the Army before being medically retired.

According to the Indiana County Commissioners, the county board of commissioners acts as the executive body of the county and shares legislative duties with the county council. The board of commissioners has the authority to pass ordinances in a number of broad areas, including supervising road and bridge construction and maintenance, developing programs to cultivate economic progress, auditing and authorizing disbursements for the county, and appointing members to serve on various boards, commissions, and committees. The commission is made up of three members, each representing one district, who are elected to four-year terms.
