City of New Albany recently issued the following announcement.
STATE STREET SIGNAL | The Board approved plans to install a new traffic signal across from Kroger on State Street. This signal will allow access to a new development, as well as New Albany Plaza. Signal timings will then be adjusted for a smoother traffic flow through the corridor.
KENTUCKY DERBY FESTIVAL | The Board approved KDF to host the Caesar Foundation’s FamFest in the City/YMCA parking lot on Friday, April 8.
FARMERS MARKET | The Board approved a request from Develop New Albany to host the Farmers Market at City Square on Saturdays from April 23 - October 1.
RUN LIKE A SUPERHERO | The Board approved a request from Open Door Youth to host its 6th Annual Vince Klein Run Like a Superhero Memorial 5K at the Riverfront Amphitheater on Saturday, September 24. The 5K will take place on the greenway.
FIRE PROMOTION | The Board approved the recommendation of the New Albany Fire Chief to promote Tim Bailey to rank of sergeant. Bailey is assigned to Truck 1, C Crew.
