Congresswoman Erin Houchin, who represents Indiana’s 9th district in the U.S. Congress, has recently posted a series of messages on her social media account reflecting on events ranging from sports achievements to international developments and national honors.

On October 11, 2025, Houchin celebrated a major victory for Indiana’s football team, writing, "What a game! Indiana takes down a Top 5 team on the road for the first time in 46 years! Let’s go Hoosiers! "

Two days later, on October 13, she commented on developments in the Middle East involving the return of hostages and referenced former President Donald Trump’s role. Houchin posted, "A truly historic day in the Middle East. President Trump is delivering on his mission of peace through strength. Hostages are returning home, and families are finally being reunited. Praying this marks the beginning of lasting peace in the region. 'Blessed are the peacemakers.'"

On October 14, Houchin announced the posthumous awarding of the Presidential Medal of Freedom to Charlie Kirk by President Trump. She wrote, "Momentarily, President Trump will posthumously award Charlie Kirk with the Presidential Medal of Freedom, our nations highest civilian honor. A fitting recognition for a man who loved God and country with fierce purpose and courage. God Bless Charlie Kirk’s family. "

Houchin has served in Congress since 2023 after replacing Trey Hollingsworth and previously served in the Indiana Senate from 2014 to 2022. She was born in Salem, Indiana in 1976 and is an alumna of Indiana University, Bloomington.
