Congresswoman Erin Houchin, who represents Indiana’s 9th district in the U.S. House of Representatives, recently addressed several policy issues and community initiatives through a series of posts on her official social media account.
On September 16, 2025, Houchin criticized House Democrats for their stance on tax policy, stating: "Every single House Democrat voted to raise taxes on manufacturers and working families. With the Working Families Tax Cuts, @HouseGOP is protecting small businesses from crushing tax hikes and preserving 5.9 million manufacturing jobs."
The following day, she highlighted concerns about housing affordability across Indiana and the nation. In her post dated September 17, 2025, Houchin wrote: "Families across Indiana and across America are feeling the strain of a housing crisis that continues to drive up costs and limit options. The Affordable HOMES Act is a commonsense solution to get government out of the way, lower costs, and give more families the opportunity to"
Also on September 17, she promoted student participation in technology education by celebrating National App Challenge Day: "Celebrating #NationalAppChallengeDay! Encouraging #IN09 students to showcase their skills in the Congressional App Challenge. The deadline to register is October 30!"
Erin Houchin has served as the representative for Indiana’s 9th congressional district since 2023 after succeeding Trey Hollingsworth. She previously held office in the Indiana Senate from 2014 to 2022. Born in Salem, Indiana in 1976, Houchin holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Indiana University Bloomington.
