Congresswoman Erin Houchin, who represents Indiana’s 9th district in the U.S. Congress, shared updates on social media this week regarding her recent activities and acknowledgments involving constituents and industry leaders.
On September 8, Houchin posted about hosting Eli Lilly and Company’s leadership team at the Capitol. She wrote, "Great to host @EliLillyandCo’s leadership team at the Capitol today. Their work continues to strengthen Indiana’s role as a leader in health and innovation."
Two days later, on September 10, she recognized John and Emily Gibson for their efforts in adoption and foster care. Houchin stated, "This morning, I had the pleasure of presenting John and Emily Gibson with their Angels in Adoption certificate. As 2025 honorees, they were recognized for their extraordinary contributions to adoption and foster care. Their commitment to children in need, guided by their strong".
Later that same day, Houchin called for support for Charlie Kirk by posting, "Please join me in praying for Charlie Kirk."
Erin Houchin has served as a member of Congress since 2023 after replacing Trey Hollingsworth. Before her tenure in Congress, she was a member of the Indiana Senate from 2014 to 2022. Born in Salem, Indiana in 1976, Houchin is an alumna of Indiana University Bloomington with a Bachelor of Science degree.
