Congresswoman Erin Houchin, who represents Indiana’s 9th district in the U.S. Congress, shared updates on economic growth, local legislation, and veterans' recognition through a series of posts on her official social media account.

On July 31, 2025, Houchin highlighted recent national economic performance by stating, "GDP grew 3% last quarter—proof that strong, America First policies are working and driving growth. America is back! " (July 31, 2025).

Later that same day, she expressed appreciation to a local business group and referenced new legislative efforts aimed at economic development: "Thank you to the Ellettsville Chamber of Commerce for a great discussion on how the One Big Beautiful Bill Act is setting the stage for stronger local economies. By cutting taxes and reducing red tape, this legislation gives businesses the tools to grow and create new" (July 31, 2025).

On August 1, Houchin posted about participating in a community event honoring military veterans: "Honored to join the Franklin County community this week to pin two heroes who waited far too long for the recognition they earned. Army veteran John Dunn received his Purple Heart for injuries sustained in Vietnam, and Navy veteran Irvin Boggs was awarded the Vietnam Service" (August 1, 2025).

Houchin has represented Indiana's 9th District in Congress since replacing Trey Hollingsworth in 2023. She previously served as an Indiana state senator from 2014 until her election to Congress and resides in Salem, Indiana. Houchin holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Indiana University Bloomington.
