Congresswoman Erin Houchin, who represents Indiana’s 9th district in the U.S. Congress, has recently used her social media platform to discuss legislative priorities and highlight personal milestones.
On July 21, 2025, Houchin addressed education policy in a post about new legislation: "The Putting American Students First Act does exactly what the name says—puts American students first. Taxpayer-funded college prep programs were never meant for those here illegally."
A day later, on July 22, 2025, she congratulated a colleague by posting: "Congratulations to my friend, Chairman @RepGarbarino!"
On July 23, 2025, Houchin promoted an episode of her podcast featuring her husband: " On this week’s episode of The Contender, I sit down with my husband, Judge Dustin Houchin. We talk faith, family, and what it means to lead with purpose—in the courtroom and at home."
Houchin began serving in Congress in 2023 after replacing Trey Hollingsworth. She previously served in the Indiana Senate from 2014 to 2022 and is a graduate of Indiana University Bloomington. Born in Salem, Indiana in 1976, she continues to reside there while representing her district at the federal level.
