The following day, April 18, Houchin visited Indiana University, her alma mater, where she engaged with notable athletes. She recounted, "Yesterday, I spent the afternoon at my alma mater, Indiana University! Olympic Diver Carson Tyler and IU Women’s Basketball star Sydney Parrish shared their perspectives on the importance of NIL and how it’s changing the game for student-athletes." She highlighted a session attended by these athletes and described how Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) policies are influencing collegiate athletics.

Later, on April 18, Houchin announced her upcoming appearance on Newsmax2. She stated, "I’ll be joining @toddstarnes LIVE on Newsmax2 at 5:15pm ET to talk about Guardian Bikes in Seymour, IN and their decision to move production from China to the U.S.—a direct result of the tariffs that are bringing manufacturing back home where it belongs. Tune in!" Her remarks focused on Guardian Bikes' decision to relocate production to the U.S., influenced by tariff policies.

Erin Houchin, born in Salem, Indiana, graduated from Indiana University, Bloomington. As of 2023, she resides in Salem and continues to serve in Congress, emphasizing both national and local issues.
