Grenadiers Cruise To 89-64 Win Over SMWC

Five Grenadiers scored in double-figures as IU Southeast rolled to an 89-64 win over St. Mary-of-the-Woods on Tuesday.

The Grenadiers led 14-12 seven minutes into the game and then pulled away with a 17-7 run to take a 31-19 lead.

A layup by the Pomeroys cut the lead to 33-24 but the Grenadiers closed the period by scoring 10 of the final 16 points of the half to take a 43-30 lead to halftime.

Jocobi Hendricks had 14 of his 17 points in the first half on 6-of-11 shooting from the field.

IU Southeast opened the second half on a 17-6 run to put the game out of reach. Christian Stewart scored 13 of his 15 points in the second half and helped spark the run.

The Grenadiers shot 55 percent from the field in the second half and were 4-of-9 from three-point range. Ten Grenadiers scored in the period.

IU Southeast scored 12 more field goals and took 14 more shots than the Pomeroys. They forced 14 turnovers and scored 18 points off of the miscues.

Jocobi Hendricks had 17 points to lead IU Southeast. Christian Stewart had 15 points, five rebounds and five assists. Jaivaughn Jackson had 13 points and four steals, Anthony Wales Jr. scored 11 points and Caleb Brown added 10 points in the win.
