Grenadiers Roll Past Brescia 89-55

The IU Southeast women's basketball team picked up an 89-55 victory on the road against Brescia on Tuesday.

 Brescia hit three layups in the first two minutes of the game to take a 6-0 lead and force an IU Southeast timeout. The Grenadiers responded with six straight points of their own to tie the game 6-6.

 An Emmy Ralph three gave IU Southeast their first lead of the contest at 11-10. After a Sierra Graham layup made it 17-15 IU Southeast, Brescia hit back-to-back threes to regain the lead at 21-17. The Bearcats led 24-21 after the first quarter.

 The second quarter saw the Grenadiers use a 7-0 run to take the lead 28-24. Brescia scored the cut the lead to two at 28-26, but IU Southeast answered with nine straight points to extend their lead to 11 at 37-26.

 Lauren Lambdin scored five straight points for the Grenadiers to give them a 42-28 lead. An Emmy Ralph three sent IU Southeast into the half with a 46-32 advantage.

 The Grenadiers extended their lead to 19 on a Lauren Lambdin layup two minutes into the third quarter. A Brescia basket made it 55-38, but IU Southeast rattled off seven straight points to jump ahead by 24 at 62-38.

 IU Southeast scored the last 12 points of the third, taking a 74-40 lead into the fourth quarter.

 The Grenadiers led by as many as 39 in the fourth quarter and would go on to defeat Brescia 89-55.

Five different Grenadiers scored in double figures in the contest. Lauren Lambdin and Emmy Ralph led the team with 18 points. Sierra Graham and Alex Maher each scored 14 and Karly Sweeney scored 11. Brynna Blackburn just missed double digits, scoring nine points on a trio of three-pointers.

Lauren Lambdin led the Grenadiers with five assists. Sierra Graham grabbed a team-high 10 rebounds to record a double-double. Alex Maher pulled down nine rebounds in the contest.
