Siena Heights Gets Past IU Southeast 71-63

The first half was a defensive struggle that saw IU Southeast not reach double-figures until the 12:39 mark of the half.

 The Saints (3-9) led 14-11 but three-pointers by TJ Hallett and Curtis Bell extended the lead to 20-11.

 Later in the half, a Jaivaughn Jackson layup cut the lead to 25-20 but back-to-back Hallett three-pointers pushed the lead to 31-22.

 The Saints led 37-30 at halftime.

 In the second half, a pair of Hallett threes extended the Saints led to 47-36 with 13:39 to play.

 A 13-2 run by IU Southeast tied the game with 7:26 to play as Glenn Hill sparked the run with a three-pointer and tied the game with a layup.

 TJ Hallett hit another three-pointer to put the Saints back on top 54-49 and two possessions later, Brendan Brown connected from distance to extend the SHU lead to 58-51 with six minutes to play.

 A three-pointer by Anthony Wales Jr. kept the Grenadiers in the game by cutting the lead to 60-56 with 4:40 left.

 Two Curtis Bell free-throws and layup and a three-pointer by Hallett put the game out of reach at 67-58 with 2:30 to play.

 The Saints shot 46 percent (11-of-24) from three-point range in the game compared to the Grenadiers' 30 percent (6-of-20).

 TJ Hallett had a game-high 24 points off of the bench as he shot 8-of-11 from three-point range in the game.

 Anthony Wales Jr. had 19 points and four steals in the loss to lead IU Southeast. Glenn Hill and Christian Stewart each added 12 points.

 IU Southeast returns to action on January 4 at Carlow University.
