Cost of college went up for all students at Indiana University-Southeast

In-state tuition and fees rose 1.9 percent for 2018-19 at Indiana University-Southeast, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.

Indiana residents paid $7,344 to attend the four-year public institution this year – $137 more than the $7,207 charged for 2017-18.

Non-residents paid 164.2 percent more than residents this year, or $19,400. Their price tag grew 1.9 percent from $19,038 in 2017-18.

About 73 percent of the school's undergraduate population are Indiana residents. About 26 percent are residents of other states and 1 percent are citizens of other countries.

Data shows 85 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 566 students received grants or scholarships totaling $4.2 million and 382 students took out student loans totaling more than $2.1 million.

Including all undergraduates (5,144), 2,818 students used grants or scholarships totaling $17.6 million, and 2,026 students took out $12.9 million in federal student loans.
