Congresswoman Erin Houchin (IN-09) expressed her support following the House of Representatives’ approval of the One Big Beautiful Bill. The legislation is designed to provide relief to various sectors including American families, workers, farmers, and small businesses.
Houchin stated, “Today, House Republicans kept our promise to the American people. The One Big Beautiful Bill is the boldest, most conservative legislation we’ve passed in a generation—and I was proud to help lead the charge.”
The bill aims to make permanent the Trump tax cuts, eliminate taxes on tips and overtime, reduce wasteful spending, secure borders, promote American energy production, and increase accountability within the federal government. According to Houchin, “For families in Southern Indiana, it means more money in their pockets, fewer burdens from Washington, and greater opportunity.”
As Independence Day approaches, Houchin emphasized that the bill represents a move towards restoring independence for Americans from governmental overreach and heavy taxation. She concluded by expressing anticipation for President Trump signing it into law on July 4th.
