Congresswoman Erin Houchin, who represents Indiana’s 9th district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of updates on February 23, 2026, addressing topics ranging from federal immigration policy to local infrastructure and health care decision-making.

In her first post of the day, Houchin highlighted a White House event: “Today, @POTUS hosted Angel Families at the White House. These are American families who have suffered tragic loss due to illegal immigrants. Family after family praised the Trump administration for their work to deport criminals and secure our nation’s borders.” (February 23, 2026).

Later that afternoon, she announced federal support for a regional project: “$1 million in federal funding has been secured for the Monon South Trail in Mitchell. This investment strengthens regional connectivity, boosts tourism, and supports long-term growth across Clark, Washington, Orange, and Lawrence counties. Thank you, Mayor Caudell, for your” (February 23, 2026).

In an evening post focused on health policy, Houchin emphasized community engagement: “Health care decisions made in Washington should never happen without input from the people delivering care. Our office hosts regular health care roundtables with doctors, hospital administrators, and industry stakeholders to ensure the policies we shape in Congress reflect” (February 23, 2026).

Houchin has represented Indiana’s 9th district since replacing Trey Hollingsworth in 2023 and previously served in the Indiana Senate from 2014 to 2022. Born in Salem in 1976 and currently residing there at age 46, she is an alumna of Indiana University Bloomington.
